The Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA), on Saturday, announced the signing with the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) of an agreement on increasing wages in the private sector for the years 2022, 2023 and 2024.

This convention fits into the concretisation of the agreement signed, on September 19, 2018, between the two professional organisations, according to the agreement.

The two parties have agreed to grant to employees in sectors subject to joint sectoral conventions they have signed an increase in SMIG of about 6.5% under 2022, which will be applied on the SMIG under the year 2019 and will be implemented from December 1, 2021. They also agreed a 6.75% increase in wages under the year 2023, applied on the SMIG of the year 2022 and implemented on January 1, 2023.
