Tunisian president Kais Saied received, on Thursday, at Carthage Palace, Minister of National Defense Imed Hazgui who was accompanied by Director General of Military Health, Brigadier General Mustapha Ferjani and several military doctors.
During the meeting, a presentation was made on medical and scientific news related to the health situation and the evolution of the COVID-19 epidemic in Tunisia and in the world.
The President of the Republic took note of the opinions and proposals of the specialists concerning, in particular, the possible scenarios and the measures that could be taken in connection with the curfew and lockdown throughout the territory during the next stage.
Cited in a statement by the Presidency of the Republic, the Minister of Defence indicated that the meeting was an opportunity to assess the situation and to take note of the specialists’ opinion so as to be able to take the appropriate decisions.
The President of the Republic also had a meeting with Director of the Pasteur Institute of Tunis, Hechmi Louzir and the head of the Infectious Diseases Department at La Rabta Hospital, Hanène Tiouiri Ben Aissa.
During the meeting, the Head of State took cognizance of the opinions of specialists and their assessment of the current health situation. He also inquired about means to cope with the spread of coronavirus and the measures that can be taken during the next stage, says a statement of the Presidency of the Republic.
