Investments on projects costing more than 5 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) posted an increase of 64.4% from 611 MTD during the first four months of 2012 to 1,004.4 MTD during the same period of 2013, indicates the letter of the Industry Promotion Agency (API).
The number of projects increased from 42 to 50, during the first four months of 2013, up 19%. These projects will create 5,604 job positions against 4,144 jobs during the first four months of 2012, i.e. a growth of 35.2%.
It should be noted that projects whose cost is over 5 MTD and which account for only 3.8% of the number of reported projects and 24.8% of the number of jobs, total 67.4% of all reported investments.
Of the 50 projects with investment exceeding 5 MTD and reported during the first four months of 2013, six projects totaled overall investment of 632.7 MTD, i.e. 62.3% of the total investment.
