The Banque de Tunisie (BT) published its financial statements as at December 31, 2022, which will be submitted for approval to the ordinary general assembly to be held on April 28, 2023.
These accounts show a net profit of 166.3 million dinars, compared with 161.3 million in 2021, an increase of around 3%.
This development occurred despite a sharp increase in risk costs, with allocations to provisions rising by almost 200% to 40.5 million dinars, compared with 13.7 million in 2021.
However, the Bank’s net banking income increased by 12% to 423.8 million dinars, compared to 377.6 million dinars at the end of December 2021, due to the 14.5% increase in operating income to 692.5 million dinars.
In fact, and taking into account the strong increase in provisions, the operating result is almost stable at 230.9 million dinars, compared to 229 million a year earlier.
