Tunisia: EBRD invests € 387 million

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has investments in the order of € 387 million for nearly 30 projects, mainly in the private sector, such as energy, automotive, agri-food and the financial sector, Anis El Fahem, Small Business Support National Programme Manager said in an interview with African Manager.

He also indicated that the bank has also made public investments like the project to clean up Lake Bizerte or strengthen the distribution network of the Tunisian Electricity and Gas Company (STEG).

Apart from financing activities, the EBRD, in his view, provides technical assistance to Tunisian SMEs in various sectors. “These activities are funded by international donors including the European Union (EU),” he said.
