Tunisia: It’s official, foreign trade is better

The results of Tunisia’s external trade at current prices in January 2018 show an acceleration in the growth rate of exports.

Indeed, exports increased by 38.9% against 9.6% in January 2017. In value, exports reached the level of 3,129.5 MD against 2253.0 MD during the month of January 2017.

Similarly, imports maintain a remarkable growth rate, recording an increase of 24.9%. % against 34.6% in January 2017.

In value, imports reached 4,341.2 MD against 3474.8 MD during the month of January 2017.

Following this evolution in terms of exports (+ 38.9%) and imports (+ 24.9%), the trade balance has slightly dropped to stand at 1,211.7 MD against 1,221.8 MD during the month of January 2017.

The coverage rate improved significantly by 7.2 points to 72.1%, compared to 64.8% in January 2017.
