Tunisia: reported investments across all sectors down 15.7% in 2023

Reported investments in all sectors reached a volume of TND 6,000 million in 2023, a decrease of 15.7% compared with 2022, mainly due to the services (-57.6%) and renewable energy (-54.3%) sectors, according to the monthly statistical bulletin published on Friday by the Tunisia Investment Authority (TIA).

These investments generated 88,349 jobs, a slight decrease of 3.4% compared to 2022.

According to the authority, 2023 was marked by a significant predominance of investments generated by start-ups compared to expansions.

In fact, the volume of startup investments reached TND 4,863 million, i.e. 81% of the investments reported. In fact, the number of jobs created by the startup operations is significantly higher than that of the expansion operations, totaling 72,033 jobs, i.e. 82% of the jobs created.
