Tunisia: TSE to launch environmental, social and governance reporting guide

The Tunis Stock Exchange (TSE) said on Monday it will soon launch an environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting guide for Tunisian companies.

The environmental, social and governance criteria are generally the three pillars of extra-financial analysis.

They allow to evaluate the exercise of the responsibility of companies towards the environment and their stakeholders (employees, partners, subcontractors and customers).

This guide, also launched by the Financial Market Council (CMF) and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), presents the principles of the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchanges initiative.

It also explains the basic concepts and the usefulness of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and ESG reporting, as well as the practical recommendations for their implementation, while leaving sufficient room for analysis to companies to take into account their own challenges and specificities.

This new ESG reporting guide will be presented on Thursday, December 2, 2021, along with the results of a survey on the state of play of ESG practices and reporting among companies listed on the Tunis Stock Exchange.
