The wage bill has been raised to 61.9% of the state budget, a record set by Tunisia which is unmatched in the world, according to economist Ezzeddine Saidane.
Speaking on Shems FM Wednesday, he wondered what share will be allocated to other expenses and public investment if salaries engulf more than 60 percent.
He called this situation “serious,” saying it is the cause of a deep crisis.
